Hey guys, so I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and my PC specs are below. I have a problem that's been happening to this machine for a little while now, which is that out of the blue, without any distinguishable pattern, the internet will completely stop working, until the next reboot. This is extremely annoying and I hope to fix it easily. Sometimes there will be the yellow "problem with your connection" triangle, but most times there won't be. I'm running an ethernet cable from my computer to a DIR-615 which is running ddwrt to use the client bridged function and wirelessly connect to my main router, the standard Bell Canada router.

One thing I should mention is that occasionally, unplugging the ethernet cable from my computer and plugging it back in will fix the issue when it occurs, but usually I'm forced to reboot.

I've tried 2 things already: using 4 different Ethernet cables, all with the same result, and setting up a static IP.

I think it's probably my router or the ddwrt software, because this issue happened when I had a different motherboard/cpu and when I ran my machine on an HDD instead of my current SSD.

What do you guys think?

Yes, when the internet stops working I can still access both routers, and I also forgot to mention that sometimes when I reboot it doesn't work AT ALL, and I can't connect to any router, and the Local Area Connection Status indicates that no bytes are received. However something odd I noticed is that when the issue occurs, in my Local Area Connection Status Activity, I am apparently receiving about 500mbs and sending out 100mbs, which is obviously impossible and because my internet speed is 15/10.

Ok. Well part of it looks like it might be the ddwrt firmware if possible you might think of updating the firmware if possible.

If you are able to connect to the routers and you don't have access to the internet that might mean that the router has stopped responding to your systems requests for DNS resolutions. You could fix this by adding the addresses to your ISP's DNS servers to your IPv4 settings or adding free ones like Googles or OpenDNS's that should help against those issues. (I had a DGL-4300 that would forget to respond to DNS requests making my computer look like it wasn't connected to the internet).

The second issue though is a bit strange though and hopefully a firmware update would fix that otherwise I'm not sure what to say about that.

I updated to the latest ddwrt firmware, however it's the same version that I had before. I also set a DNS for my IPv4, and set the same DNS on both routers. I also tried setting my DHCP to manual, and none of these things have fixed the issue...
