Since Yesterday on my Main PC my Ping is jumping between 12 ms and 900ms all the time (Most of the time ~400). The PC is connected to LAN and WLAN (I was trying both on their own too without any changes in results). On every single other device (2 Tablets, 3 Phones and 1 Laptop) its all the time at 12ms. I was restarting my router and my PC multiple times without changes in the results. I already ran my Antivirusprogramm (Kaspersky) without finding anything. I put in ´ping google.com‘ in cmd too with it timing out (same with ´tracert´). Btw Windows Firewall is being controlled by Kaspersky. Any further suggestions?

Solution

The difference between safe mode and normal is the software that's loaded, so this is unlikely to be a hardware issue. Have you opened your resource monitor while testing and looked for programs that might be using your network at the same time? If not, I expect there is some kind of file corruption causing the aberrant behavior. You might need to reinstall something (program, driver, etc)...

Tried without Kasperky controlling the firewall and turning it off too without any changes

My NIC drivers are up to date

How can I try a different NIC?

By the way:
I put my PC into Safe Mode (Networking) where I was getting my usual permanent 12ms

You'd have to buy a new NIC and install it. Easiest/fastest would be a USB external NIC.

but if Safe mode with networking functions normally, i would guess it's not the NIC....

Safe mode might load different NIC drivers than the ones in normal mode. Maybe check that?

Recource Manager showing 0% Network Utilization, but ~700ms and 5-10% Packet loss. So I’m going to try reinstalling the Driver I guess? I don’t think I have an Currupted File or something else, because before everything was working normally.

After Reinstalling Driver everything is back to normal! Thanks for the help!
