i have a similar problem as the person who posted

Ethernet keeps disconnecting... unless I turn on a VPN or switch to WiFi ?

and i looks through all the replys but it ends in the ping test and i have tried the ping test

and it said
"Pinging trendnet.com [38.122.20.251] with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 38.122.20.251:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)," what does this mean and what do i do

Reference: 38.122.20.251 - how/why are you pinging that IP address?

Who is or who do you expect the address to be? Trendnet?

On the Acer laptop run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Post the results.

You should be able to use Copy & Paste without any need to retype everything.

According to "ipconfig /all" the Acer laptop is using wireless connectivity - not Ethernet (wired).

The laptop is also using a "Killer" wireless network adapter which I believe have proven problematic for many users.

Try pinging Google at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to determine if that succeeds.

If not, then on the Wireless network adapter disable IPv6 and try again.

Failing that, next change the Acer's network adapter from wireless to wired. Use an Ethernet cable to a router LAN port to determine if that will work.
