Internet works then stops working after closing down web browser?

Hi, I've got a problem with how my internet works on my PC which started happening when I installed a fresh copy of Win 7. For some reason I will load up my web browser and everything seems fine. After closing the browser then opening it up again my internet is either dead or extremely slow! This happens pretty much every day I use the internet :\

Does anybody have any theories they can throw in?

Firewall?

Possibly. I'm using zone alarm. Do you know what the firewall could be doing? Why would it work the first time I open the browser?

I'm not sure to be honest, but try disabling it completely and see if the problem goes away and then you can dig a little deeper. If it's not that, you can try something else...but not sure what.
