I had a look on www.thebottlenecker.com to see how much a GTX 1070 would bottlenecked by a Ryzen 5 1500x (my cpu).
I knew it would be a bit, but it is saying 100%. Which makes it sound like there would be no point using a 1070.
I think I must be misinterpreting what it means. Any smart people familiar with the site able & willing to explain? thanks heaps

Without bothering to go to that site I can tell you right now that a gtx 1070 will play just fine with the 1500x. Any bottleneck will be minimal. At the most 1 or 2%. Probably not a bottleneck at all. Either way as I said, and I am sure others will back me up, those 2 components will play together just fine.

Don't use it. The creators of the website have no idea how bottlenecks are actually performed. Anything can bottleneck anything, it all depends on the games, graphical settings, resolution. Bottlenecking is useless to worry about if your CPU can perform up to your FPS goals in certain games, and your GPU can perform the same FPS at your desired resolution and graphical settings.

For most AAA games, that CPU will be great for refresh rates under 75hz.

I thought I was going to get a lecture on my Ryzen 5 1500x 's inferiority & my stupidity. 😀 So it isn't me it's the website yes? Anyone know of a bottlenecking site that is more accurate?

I'm not 'worrying' about it I'm now asking if anyone knows a bottlenecking website that works.

There is no such animal unless you already have the gear installed in your system. I'm not sure what the issue is here. Me, and everyone after me said that setup will work. That site sucks eggs. There is nothing to interpret.

Utter utter rubbish: Bottleneck detected: Your CPU is too weak for this graphic card.

Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz with GeForce GTX 970 (x1) will produce 10% of bottleneck. Everything over 10% is considered as bottleneck. We recommend you to replace Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz with Intel Core i7-4930MX @ 3.00GHz.

So replacing my CPU with a mobile one that doesn't fit.

The issue appears to be that you think I need your permission to ask if anyone knows another bottlenecking site. Because you have decided for me that I shouldn't want that.
I want to play around with trying out different combos of cpu/gpu's!
You don't know a site fair enough. Thanks for your help

Just because people don't precisely answer your question doesn't mean that it's not valid and useful information. No one thinks you need to ask permission to do anything, they are just saying that the search is pointless because such a site is 'too difficult' as it's also application specific, not just a function of hardware.

I was grateful for the info. He wouldn't let it go that I was daring to ask a question about alternative sites & he demanded to know what the issue was.
So I answered his question

Thank you.
