My system:
CPU Intel P /// 933
CUSL2 M/B
2*128 SDRAM
ELSA GLADIAC GeForce2 GTS
SB Live! Player 5.1
I installed Win 2k, everything worked just fine, but soon some problems appeared (below). When I tried to get rid of them, I checked resources list, and saw that every PCI component is located under IRQ9 !!!!!!!!! And so it began )
After some hardware and software fiddle I came to the conclusion, that problems lie with the ACPI BIOS. ACPI interface is a kind of HUB that manages all the devices on the same interrupt. Perhaps it solves some problems but creates new.
Graphic card except GeForce based shouldn't share an interrupt and I can see it - sometimes, especially during sound playing or USB activity - some inperfections appear on the screen - kind of interference on very small
area. Also during MP3 playing - very short brakes - something unbelievable on 933 MHz isn't it?
How can I get rid of this problem? How can I set separate IRQs? BIOS settings doesn't solve anything. Swapping cards in slots didn't help either... Maybe I should get some software or update... Its very annoying, that hi-end equipment doesn't act as good as expected...
TIA
