Hi there,

So, I'm trying to get the ios app "Duet Display" to work on Windows 10. It's an app that you install both on the iPad and your PC and allows you to use the iPad as an extra touch display....pretty nifty.

Well, I installed the desktop half of the app on windows 7, it was finicky so I uninstalled it and upgraded to windows 10. Well, the uninstall was only half way done when I upgraded to windows 10 (that is, I had uninstalled the app but not restarted my PC). When I then tried to uninstall it I couldn't get rid of the display driver portion of the program (called "Kairos Display").

At the suggestion of the app creators I downloaded iObit uninstaller and am attempting to eradicate all remnants of Duet and Kairos on my system. I did a "powerful scan" using IOBit and it turned up a bunch of remnant files in my key registry........

That seems like really dangerous stuff so, rather than delete them all, I wanted to post a picture of IOBit's findings here and see if you guys think deleting these things would be safe or not...Google Drive Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1QvteNKiQgwVWtNODc1NFVzUHc/view?usp=sharing

I'm WAY out of my league here, so if I am leaving out pertinent information, just let me know what it might be and I'll share it. Thanks for taking the time to look!

If anything does go wrong, you should make sure your critical files are backed up on a secondary/external storage device. The thing is Windows 10 doesn't like it when it has someone fiddling through it's registry or underlying architecture even in Powershell. Most often people who have tried editing settings on an administrator level have come up empty handed with a black screen.

I would suggest that you(since you've already upgraded to Windows 10 from 7) create a bootable USB installer and then reinstall your OS.

Please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your connected peripherals. Have you also made sure your BIOS is up to date? Should you want to install your copy of Duet Display, please make sure you've disabled automatic device driver updates and that you install under an elevated command:
Right Click Installer>Run as Administrator
or in compatibility mode:
Right Click Installer>Properties>Compatibility Tab>Windows 7/8 [from drop down menu].

Thanks for the response. I had already deleted the Duet remnants in question by the time you had posted your response (I sent the same picture to the owner of Duet Display and he said it should be safe). Every thing seems to be alright so far, no black screen or anything like that. I will definitely look into making a bootable USB installer, just in case....though I'd rather not re-install the OS unless I have to....it seems so drastic (?)

As far as full system specs:

Processor: AMD FX-8150 8 core 4.15 GHz
RAM: 16gb
System: 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 Pro

And then connected peripherals would just be a TP-Link Wireless USB adapter, a printer, and a Logitech mouse and keyboard.

Also, how would I know if my BIOS is up to date? This computer was made for me by a friend back in 2012 and I know I haven't done anything with the BIOS since then.......
