Iolo system mechanic Optimized (re-aligned files and defragged) my eMMC flash storage. Will it shorten the life of my eMMC?

Hi guys,

Well I just recently bought a asus t100 and well it was being a little sluggish so I decided to download a copy of my system mechanic software onto it and after doing so I ran a deep scan which highlighted a plethora of problems that I decided to fix. However, while it was going through and working on my PC I decided to look into the performance increase that I would gain by iolo optimizing my eMMC flash storage and every where I went all I could see is that by doing so one is considerably shortening the life of their flash storage. Now since this is a tablet I am worried that if the flash storage on here dies i'll be forced to throw it out. So I would really like to know how much damage exactly did running this software do to my PC? Thanks.

When flash memory, SSD's and the like first started coming out, that was what everybody thought. Testing has proven that they are very long lasting especially the newer models.

Thanks really appreciate your response. Well the thing is this is the second time system mechanic has done this. Just don't want this PC dying on me in the next 2-3 years or so.

Dump System Mechanic , not good software.

I have an old Agility 4 SSD that I have been using just under 3 years now. And have been using Sys Mechanic longer than that. I let Sys Mechanic optimized the SSD whenever it deems it should and so far it is still running perfectly.
