Iomega troubleshooting

my computer does,nt recognize the driver.tried following the wizard instructions and it tells me to navigate through my computer to usb info but i don,t have it coming up.doin my head in this.please help me somebody.o by the way the model is a select portable hard drive 320gb usb 2.0

Is it new and has it ever worked? is it a powered drive or usb only? are you connecting to a desktop or laptop? which may not be supplying enough power from the usb port if it's not a powered drive.
Is the hard drive formatted if new?

thank you for getting back to me but went through hell with this portable 2 usb hard drive.i have viast and it,s apparently renound this problem.my computer does,nt have the right driver.it,s now going back.thanks
