Hello everybody,

Before I start, I've read almost every single Iomega Zip Drive 100 Parallel Port thread on this forum. I cannot seem to get my Zip Drive to work on my computer anymore. I'm running Windows XP and last year I did not have any issues, but now I can't seem to get it to work (completely reformatted the hard drive).

In device manager, ports, I only have a COM1 port showing. I do not have a Printer port showing so I can't set anything to "legacy plug and play". I've downloaded every single driver on the internet hoping one would some how work and I've had no luck. The zip drive runs just fine.

Does anybody have the actual software that Iomega used to put out? Maybe if I had the software instead of just the driver, it would work?

Thanks for the help

That was another issue I was having. I went through the BIOS, exactly how previous threads recommended, and I can't find anything in my BIOS that hints at being able to adjust something parallel port related. I went through the entire thing.

I have an old custom built computer. Motherboard is an old Foxconn C51XEM2AA motherboard. I haven't had any success finding a manual with information about the BIOS so I can see where this parallel port part is located.

I looked up your motherboard, according to the images that come up for it, the motherboard does not have a parallel port on it. Does your version have a parallel port or are you using an add-in card? Did you test the card in another computer or check for drivers for it? If you get the thing working on your system or on another, you should copy the files off the ZIP disk onto something else, those are not the most reliable things to use for data storage and have not been made for years.

Hi, I have the same problem and would like to try this suggestion.
Unfortunately I'm not all that computer savvy. Exactly how do I go about checking/enabling the parallel port and setting to bi-directional?
Cheers!
