Question IOS 12 safe for web access to Outlook?

We have no money in our school budget for new iPad's and they are old enough that IOS 13 can't be downloaded. Is it still secure and safe to connect with Outlook and Salesforce in a web browser?

I'm not the best with security, but using those Ipads should be fine.

Apple devices are some of the most secure out there, even older ones.
