I'm no developer but I'm just wondering why people have to make each one of their apps compatible again everytime a new iOS update comes out. Why wouldn't apple just write one code that would enable the apps to work for all future iOS updates?

I don't understand. They don't make a profit from new iOS updates not supporting older apps.
