Is it possible to find the location for expired ip addresses?
For example, i have an old ip address that is either invalid or has been reasigned. i need to know the location that the address was used previously...

Only the ISP has that, and only if they retain that info.

So to confirm, the websites like IP Location Finder etc that provide geolocation from a few different services are in real time and some are from the past.... I notice the information they provide is a few weeks old in some cases... how long before an expired IP address stops being picked up by these geolocation websites?

ANd finally, when one cancels service, how long does it take for the lease to expire? Is it instant upon the account being terminated or does it stay registered until the next time the dhcp lease is usually renewed?

1. Mostly correct. They do not keep a history log.

2. Unknown, and it almost certainly varies

3. That depends on the ISP and their policies
