IP Camera connect and access without the software...

Hello,

So i didnt knew were to put it, so i start this thread at networking, sorry if it is not correct.
so i bought a camera from an online store, and it comes with a software(the sw is liveeyes) were you can use it to access it online.

But i dont trust the software, so is there a way to just connect it to my e.g laptop (with ethernet) and access it, use a program to record as well, also can i do that at linux?
What distro should i use, and what software?

And after that, can i also connected it directly to my router and access it from every computer inside in the network(what tools should i use in this scenario so i can record from ond computer and save them in a hdd)?

so there 2 scenarios, first connect it directly to laptop or pc(having a linux distro), and record/watch from there, or the second scenario were i connected it in my router/switch directly and access it, from different systems in my net(and record or watch from there).

You should be able to look at it via the IP and port number on a web browser. If it's anything half decent.

Many cameras do not provide direct HTTP feed but need installing a browser plugin.
Check whether you camera is supported by standard. There are many free, ad-based, and paid apps for smartphones and Windows/Linux which support this interface.
While this might not answer directly your question (everybody, and my grandma, makes IP cameras), it might help you to achieve your goal.
