Hy guys

My neighbour bought a foscam ip camera a few days ago(he's using our wifi). Since then my upload speed hasn't been the same. My current bandwitdth is 10D/2U Mbps . For the past few days the upload speed was only 0.6 Mbps . When I switch off the access point the upload speed rises back to 2Mbps. Could it be that my neighbour is streaming the camera at 720p/30fps which uses more than half of my upload speed?

Yes, streaming 720p video takes a lot of bandwidth and he must have it set up such that it is uploaded through your Internet connection (perhaps to his mobile phone) rather than to just his own local computer storage/monitors.

Since it is affecting your ISP upload speed it must be getting routed through your router to your ISP.

If he can afford his own place and an IP cam, perhaps it's time that he got his own Internet access?

yeah apparently his camera wifi couldnt find the router's signal which he was already using on his laptop - kinda weird . So my sis gave him access to the modem/AP. Since its some stupid Audiocodes mp252 I cant even access the admin site on it to change the pass . I tried disconnecting the utp cable from the modem but then all the phones in the house are dead cause of it

and to top it off
He's using the cam in his photo store to spy on his new employee :pt1cable:

If he can also afford a store, he can afford his own Internet connection and quit leaching off you.

Reset your router with the reset button on the back. Connect to the router with an Ethernet cable and enter the default IP address in your browser, then use the default user and password to enter the configuration. Set new user and password for router login. Change your WPA2 security key and restart your router.

Also turn off WPS (it is a security hole with which someone could crack your network that uses WPA2 in just an hour or so) on your router.

Then you will have to change the key in all your connected devices, but at least they will all work again, and tell sis if she wants to keep using the network she cannot give out access to others unless you set up a guest network for them.

If you have a problem connecting any of your devices, on that device delete your wireless network that is the old saved network, restart your device, and reconnect with the new passkey.

I understand since you said the camera was at his store, but you also control the AP, or not?

If you control them, you should be able to disable his access by changing your wireless security passkey at the router and AP.

They would just both need to be reset to default so you can access and change them.

If you only control the router, you can disable the AP by disconnecting it from the router.

I cant control the AP because its from the ISP and they dont allow meddling with settings - the only thing i can do is connect to it via wifi. I tried to login but there's no response
