Question IP COM Controller VLAN

What is a "ip com controller".

Vlans are basically just a number. There really is no concept of a "name" being passed through network equipment.....the systems that do try to coordinate the names are all proprietary and on enterprise equipment like cisco or HP. If you have some system that requires a certain number vlan to be used then you will have to find that information.

You would have to provide the exact model number to be sure but many consumer grade managed switches will support vlans. Note there are 2 different types of vlan ports...tagged and untagged. You really need to understand the differences and where they are used.
