[SOLVED] Ip Location Issues

Our IP address says we are based in Bradford, UK yet we are probably 300 miles away from there in Norwich. When searching on devices Wired PC, iPads, iPhones etc for anything NEAR ME. The search results show in Bradford and NOT Norwich. We are on a static IP with plusnet and do not use a VPN. Really confused as why! Has anyone else seen this issue?

Many sites rely on the "location" of whomever owns and distributes that IP address.

Frequently, my location at work is seen to be 700 miles away, because the entity that owns that block of IP addresses is located there.

Thats what I had thought. But when I contacted PLUSNET, they just asked if we used a VPN. So basically you think that because our IP address is static, the one they gave us is located in Bradford?

"Static" or dynamic makes no difference.
Wherever your ISP has registered that IP to be from.

It might even be a satellite or corporate office, in a whole OTHER location.

If you go to https://whatismyipaddress.com, you can look up your IP and see where THAT thinks you are from.
