Hey guys

So I was having another issue with my internet (ping spikes etc) which led to my ISP advising me to buy a new router. I got a Draytek 2820n under heavy recommendation.

Ever since using it, my iphone disconnects from wifi while in standby mode and won't receive imessages, emails ect ect.

As soon as I unlock my phone, it connects automatically in a few seconds and I receive all my messages.

This is totally problematic as I work from home (music producer), and switch my mobile data off as otherwise it is constantly buzzing in the speakers.

This didn't happen on the old router. And all iPhones in the house are effected.

just to paint a picture, after several minutes in standby mode, the little wireless icon disappears - which from memory, always used to happen anyway, but would still receive messages. But now of course, it disappears and turns my phone into a brick.

I did briefly look in the WAN settings of the router to make sure its set to "always on" - which it is.

Any ideas?

Yes - running latest ios... both my 6s and my girlfriends 6 are effected. Neither were effected on the old router.

I dont really know what that is or does (although I have heard the term before)

But in my Wireless settings, it used to be on: Mixed 11b+11g+11n and i changed it to Mixed 11g+11n - I did this ont he understanding that no hard ware in this house would be on the oldschool B - is that the info you needed?

I also did a brief check on the draytek website and they seem complicated with their naming convention... but one note I saw is on the underside of the router it would say Module 6 or Module 8... Module 6 is single band.

The underside of mine says Module 6. So what would that mean if my router is in fact single band?

Well thats no good... I will have to buy another router then.

But doesn't seem like that would cause the issue of just disconnecting itself while on idle? You mentioned an incompatibility or something?
