I bought the Dell U2417H IPS computer monitor. After powering it on and going to a website with a white/light background, I immediately noticed that there was a small gray haze/shadow running along the right and left edges of the screen from the top all the way to the bottom of the screen. It's about 1/2 cm thick. However, if I move myself to either edge of the screen, the gray haze/shadow goes away but the opposite edge retains the shadow and it gets more intense the more I move away from the opposite edge, although it maintains its original thickness. Also, I did not observe any haze on the top or bottom edges of the screen, only at the left and right edges. If i move myself away from monitor the haze/shadow goes away (i see sharp edges). What could be causing this? Is this normal for IPS monitors?

I am experiencing the same behaviour on my 31.5 inch IPS asus va32aq. I don't know if this is normal behaviour. If anyone knows whether this is an actual issue, please let us know. The left and right edges are not bleeding light. In fact, the left and right edges are dim in comparison to the rest of the monitor.
