Ips or 144hz?

Solution
Have you ever gamed on 144hz before?
If you have, you don't want to go back to 60hz probably 😉
If you haven't, I say IPS and 60hz is fine, you'll love the colors and is the cheaper option.
Also you will want to try the speed of an SSD, that is the major "WOW" factor you're going to get
If your primary purpose is to game on it...
If you can find an IPS monitor with freesync in your price range, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, get the faster monitor.

If you're going for photo/video editing or looking to color match screen and print...
If you can find an IPS monitor with freesync in your price range, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, get a regular IPS monitor.

Solution
I'd say if you need a 500 GB SSD, get one. I'll be buying the same SSD for Windows 10. But I just bought the Benq 1440p 144Hz monitor. Now I just need an AMD card to match it.

never used 144hz

Good then don't get it for now if you're on a budget. The moment you spend 5-10 mins on 144hz you will never want to go back to 60fps (60hz).

144hz is more expensive to game on just for the fact that your video card needs to be able to output more frames per second compared to 60 (more than double). Therefore, you need a really good video card. The R9 390 is quite good actually, but for how long? in 2016 you will probably need to upgrade if you play the latest games. If you stay at 60hz and 1080p however, that same r9 390 will last you another 3 years or more if you're conservative.

thanks! i have gts 450 and my friend had gtx 260, so we can last a long timeXD
