Hello,

I want to buy a new monitor. I have limited budget and I have found this two options:

1) BenQ EW2750ZL LED Monitor
2) Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor | U2414H

I want a monitor for video editing as well for gaming. So I want good color reproduction and normal response times.

BenQ has 4ms(GTG) and AMVA+ panel with 72% NTSC(16.7 Million colors) but Dell has 8ms(GTG) and IPS panel with 96% sRGB(16.77 Million colors).

What do you think guys? Which one is better for my needs?

Thanks!

IPS would be your best bet for video editing and color reproduction. I've actually found a better monitor on amazon then the Dell IPS you have provided. Its an Acer R240HY bidx 1080p monitor, with a 4ms reponse time (perfect for gaming), 23.8" and is only $129.99. There is also a 27" version with the same 4ms response time, and same 1080p resolution but for $269.80.

Hope this helps.

In general summarized, VA for nicer truer blacks, thus better contrast and IPS for better colour re-production. If you wanted to add TN to that, as a side note, TN is better for minimal lag(and thus significantly higher refresh rates than either VA or IPS....) in any area, whether that is input lag, response time or whatever.

That's what someone told me....so unless they're wrong or I somehow unknowingly warped that into my own conclusion......this answer should help you determine which you want.

Wow, 130$ and 4ms IPS? I think that's the best choice despite that it doesn't have adjustable stand.

Deep blacks are good but better color reproduction is better. So I will choose IPS then. Thanks for reply. :)

Ya man, go for it. For the price, brand, IPS and 4ms, you can't beat it. Reviews are also good too! Hope it goes well!

There are also drawbacks of each panel type....but you seem to be happy with IPS so I won't discourage/dissuade you from this decision by listing the downsides of an IPS.... ☺:na:
