I am currently deciding between these 2 budget 1440p monitors.

I dont know which one to get. My main purpose will be gaming and video streaming.
I like the K272HUL because it has a 1ms response time, 27 inch and has a vesa mount.
However, the more popular G257HU is IPS that is 4ms, 25 inch, but no vesa mount.

Which monitor do you think would be best for my use. Price of both is about the same, so don't let that be a deciding factor.

I went from 1ms TN panel (Asus VX238H) to 5ms PLS panel (Samsung S24D590PL) and I didn't notice any ghosting or lag or any problems with gaming on my PlayStation 4. I play online third person shooter mainly (The last of us faction MP) but I tested the monitor on Need for Speed Rivals and Driveclub. I found no ghosting or blur at all.
TN are the most reliable ones for gaming as they have the lower ms to prevent ghosting on games with alot of movement. IPS is just a brighter enhanced screen during dark scenes in movies, pictures, games. depending on your specs i would go for a higher refresh rate monitor as its way better for game tearing when v-sync is on during gameplay it would be way better than a 60Hz

I have a gtx 1070 and 6600k.
I plan to oc the monitor to 75hz or so.

144hz monitors are well above my budget.

Well, the difference between 60hz and 75hz isn't much. If you wanted to game at somewhere between 90hz (fps) and 144 hz (fps) without any ghosting, then you'd have to shell out the bucks for a 144hz superfast TN monitor. Given that you plan to OC the monitor to 75hz (just 15hz more than 60), then I'd recommend the IPS: better colors and far better viewing angles.

I will oc over 75 if my monitor allows, and I would get IPS but I am a FPS gamer and need the 1ms response time isntead of the 5ms.
