I'm looking into getting a monitor but i don't really know anything about them, so what should i get?

and if you guys could list a few recommendations that would be awesome.

My budget is no more than $200 and I'm going for a 23" - 27"

I also have a TN panel and it is fine

My own personal take on TN vs IPS, I having used both TN (Swift) and IPS (Dell U2412M and VX2770-SMH), this is my conclusion:

1. TN is not automatically bad, and IPS is not automatically godly, plenty of examples of crap panels from both. However, IPS tend to have better out of the box experience than TN. Also, IPS 8Bit a quite common, though can be bit pricey, 8Bit TN only started to appear on the market.

2. If two monitor's specs are otherwise completely equal in every regard, save for the response times, IPS is definitely more preferable.

3. If you are using 60hz monitor, especially monitors larger than say 30", then definitely IPS.

4. If you are using 4k monitor, definitely IPS.

I tend to limit TN monitors to 27" or smaller and 144hz, but YMMV
