IPS vs. contrast

Hello,I'm studying animation, and work alot with adobe photoshop and afteraffects. interested in puchasing Dell U2412M, but not sure if i shoul get a TN monitor in the same price range, with higher contrasting view than 1: 2 million. thanks

static or dynamic contrast? there is a big difference. i wouldnt rely to much on dynamic numbers.

if you use photoshop and will be doing so professionally you want at least an 8bit monitor (s-ips or p-ips) if not a 10 bit h-ips monitor.

i dont have time to post all of the details right now but if you read a bunch of posts i made in this forum you can get a good idea of the differences between monitors.
