Question ipv6

More what advantage do you see having IPv6.

This is one of those things that they have been saying IPv6 is the "future" for more than 20 years. It is finally somewhat common but I still see no reason for it to exist. A lot of it was based on the shortage of IP addresses which is not as much a issue and in some ways it is a advantage to not have every device have a unique IP.
This sounds good until you find there are companies already abusing the tracking of people and their equipment. If IPv6 was fully implemented they could track detailed usage for all the smart devices in your house individually. The other downside is the headers are much larger so in effect your download rates are less.

The only people that seem to need it are in areas of the world where the ISP do not have enough addresses to offer them for servers. So it makes it hard for a new ISP to act as a hosting company because they can not get enough IPv4 to sell their customers.

For a home user I tend recommend turning it off unless you have a very good reason to turn it on.
