Seems both ACDSee and Irfanview share a problem in the ability
to insert an ALT code symbol (namely the Euro sign=ALT+0128)
into the image name descriptor box.

Is there any workaround for placing the Euro symbol with Irfanview?

Thanks

What do you mean by "the image name descriptor box" in IrfanView?
If you mean a filename, then I have no trouble with using the Euro
symbol.

Alan,

I tried it too and found that using "Save" or "Save As" the Alt 0128
works - but it does NOT work if you try to use "Rename" - I get an
underline character.

Thanks very much Fred,
yes, that's what I was trying to confirm.
On the occaision of an edit when renaming an image file
the Euro symbol is replaced.

Best Regards

Hi Fred

Not sure I can follow why anyone would want to, but I tried the Rename
and it changed the Euro to a C with a cedilla as in Alt+0199 Ç

I think we should find something better to do....
