IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error

I need help solving my crash problem. Every time I use something graphic intensive my computer crashes. Even if it's just a 720p YT vid

That error tends to be a power issue. What power supply are you using? Check your power plugs and inspect your motherboard for popped caps.

I have a 1000W EVGA 80+ Titanium. The motherboard is a brand new ASUS Z170-A.

This only happens whenever I try and do something that uses more graphics. Could it be to do with the connection of power between the PSU and tge GPU?

First thing, make sure your drivers are good. Do a clean install of the graphics drivers.

Remove and re-insert the graphics card. Make sure it is going in the slot without undue stress.

If you have managed to get the motherboard installed slightly crooked the GPU may be loosing contact with a PCIe pin when it heats up.

IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL is also a sign of bad memory. Either System or VRAM, but it can have many causes, including power. So if you have lots of memory you can try reducing the number of sticks, then re-installing and increasing the voltage if that was the problem.

Can't rule out a faulty GPU either.

So I've found a solution. I turned off the computer and reset my motherboard by removing the small battery inside. I then booted up and ensured all auto-tuners and overclock settings were set to off, so that it ran at stock voltage.

This brings me to my next query - how do I overclock! Now, when I try to overclock (even just turbo core) I get a BSOD on boot. I will put this into a different thread however. Thanks for your help!
