Been using a Crucial MX 300 for over 4 years. Recently noticed that whenever I download something off Steam or run Malwarebytes, Disk Usage in the task manager spikes up to 100% for the entire duration of the operation.

The SSD has a clean installation of Windows 11 on it, and no other drives are connected to my system.

I tried running Windows' built-in error checking tool, but upon scanning the drive, no errors were found. There are no viruses, either, and the latest firmware is installed.

Apparently the SSD is in good health, but should I be worried?

It is fine.

If it were 100% ALL THE TIME, then I'd be concerned.
Not for the physical drive, but rather what is causing that use.

That's reassuring, thank you once again for the extremely quick reply. Thankfully it isn't at 100% all the time, but only during specific operations.

Disk utilization means the drive is busy servicing a request from something. It's no different than your CPU % utilization at 100% because it's busy with something.

Note "busy servicing a request" doesn't mean how much data is being passed back and forth. A disk can be 100% busy but the read or write statistic is well below what it's capable of.
