Is 1080p a permanent bottleneck for now and the future?

Is there a point investing in high frequency 1080p monitors? from what i see in benchmarks systems are doing WORSE at 1080p compared to 1440p. So are we trading better visuals... For poor performance? this is basically self-trolling.

CPU bottlenecks the card in lower resolutions hence why you need the most powerful cpu to even grease 200 fps in 1080p with games other than CS even with a top of the line card. What i mean to say is 1080p is heavily CPU dependent for performance whereas higher resolutions not so much. I cannot explain this well which means i don't entirely understand the concept of parallel rendering and how it affects the output but it is a real thing.

No it's not a real thing.
CPU x can run game x at x FPS maximum. Full stop, end of discussion.

At higher resolutions GPUs can't reach x FPS so CPU x doesn't have to do the same amount of work because the game is running slower,at lower FPS.
Your CPU is responsible for the max FPS you can get but also the other way around the max FPS you can get is responsible for how much work your CPU does.
