Is 1080ti okay for i5-7400?

I plan to upgrade my pc a little, i currently have rx470, i5-7400 and 1x 8gb ddr4 ram.

I know i have to buy 600w power supply first, but won't this i5 bottleneck 1080ti?

All i want is to play games like Battlefield 1, Battlefield V in the future, Insurgency : Sandstorm, Cyberpunk and other newer titles at 60 fps high/ultra 1080p

it's a bit under powered, but you should still see some decent performance boost over the rx470, you could search up 8100 and 1080ti benchmark on it.

honestly, i think you would get a higher fps, getting a new b360/8400 and a 1080 and they cost about the 8400/b360/1080 is about $50 more expensive.

Further upgrade is definetly something im looking forward to, but i dont want to go from i5 7400 to i5 8400 but from i5 7400 to i7 or even higher in the future, I just wanted to know if i will get some decent performance for now, thanks

That single stick of memory is going to be a bigger issue than you realize. You need a dual kit or your system will suffer playing the more demanding games.

if you are planning a cpu upgrade apart from this, it's probably better to get the 1080ti, as faster cpu will definite unlock more pontential, games at 1080p tends to be still more cpu bound than gpu bound. and that's why you don't see huge performance gain going 1080 to 1080ti @ 1080p compare to 1440p.

I can buy additional 8gb ram now and card later or in the other way - i cant really afford both atm
