I want to build a new system and I want to reuse the Antec HCG 750 from my old PC which is 12 years old.
I fear it is a bit too old and my smoke out one of these days.
It was a good kitten and it worked without any problems, ever.

So, should I keep (and invest the money in a better gpu) it or upgrade it?

Power supply is one of the most critical places to not cheap out. It is the foundation of your entire system.

If you are looking at a 750w psu, you might as well reuse your psu that you known to be working.
It is a top quality unit with a 10 year warranty.

What is your current gpu and what gpu would you like to upgrade to?
Modern graphics cards can have high momentary power spikes.
Look to at least 850w and perhaps 950w.
Look for a unit with at least the same 10 year warranty you had before.
