[SOLVED] Is 1200w future proof?

Hi,

Currently a Rog Thor 1200w is available to me, I don't really need it atm but I can grab it for a good price, and I want know if it will be good enough for a future build, such as this:


RTX 4090
256GB DDR5
Whatever the next AMD CPU is after 5950X.
NVme SSDs, HDDs +all the other stuff.
System usually under full load.


If you think that PSU wouldn't be enough or will be on the ledge I will skip it.
Also, I heard this PSU might not support 4000 series connector. Is there such a thing?

unless its atx 3.0, then its not future proof, they will hit market this year, release time should be around rtx4000

Sorry, I do not know if that PSU is ATX 3. How do I find out? I don't see ATX version in the specs.

those PSUs will have that 12pin connector included and whats more important, psu wattage needed will be different (mainly for power hungry GPU stability), lower wattage psus will run them fine, while with atx 2.x you have to get like double watts to get stable system
there seems to be just single atx 3.0 psu atm, but its not certified

atx 3.0 has two certificates, one with 80+ and second from cybernetics, logos you can find here https://www.cybenetics.com/index.php?option=news
atm no certified product exists, as specs were released in february, but they will come throughout 2022

Ooooookay sir.
I guess I should skip this Rog Thor then because it says ATX 2.4 and I don't want to end up having to buy a new PSU again just for the 4000 series. Correct me if I'm wrong.
