Is 128Kbps good enough for gaming?

I can't afford internet and just saw recently online that you can use a cell phone hotspot for xbox live. I have T mobile so my plan is if I use up my 6Gb of data then I am slowed down to 128kbps. Will 128kbps be good enough for xbox live once I use up the 6Gb?

Certainly not. Even to stream Netflix you need a minimum of 1.5Mbps I think.

That unfortunately will not be enough bandwidth for online games.

Depends on the games, some games have more network chatter than others and that can also vary with mods/addons which may add chatter of their own. In WoW for example, it is common for network bandwidth to spike beyond 1Mbps at the beginning of raid boss fights.

Okay thanks. I watched some youtube videos and the guy I was watching said that bandwidth doesn't matter. Ping is king. Then I saw somebody else playing call of duty black ops 2 and he was measuring his bandwidth during the game. He was only using like 50-100kbps. I probably still gonna try it.

Go for it dude. I hope I was way off base. Definitely some games will need more bandwidth than that. I wish you luck and low latency.
