I'm going to be rendering HD videos with Vegas Pro, Adobe After Effects and I'm going to use Adobe Photoshop CS6.

For games, I'm going to play Combat Arms and Mabinogi. These games are pc based and not steam or xbox or anything so it only requires about 1-2gb of ram.

is 16gb of ram enough? I can get either 16gb or 32gb, i'll go with what you guys tell me. thanks alot!

Overall can be yes, when using large data sets (like video, multiple apps/windows, images, etc) at times you may see your HD light flickering on/off/on that normally indicates that you are reading and writing to the page file on your hard drive as your DRAM is full (just holding data) the more DRAM you have the less need to go back and forth to the page file

alright haha
i have one last question,

is there a difference in speed or performance between having 16gb or 32gb of ram if i'm only using 5gb of ram?

for an example, I use 5 GB of ram with computer 1(16GB memory) and 5GB of ram with computer 2(32GB memory). would there be a difference in speed or performance just because there are more unused memory in it?
