Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in my system, but I'm unsure whether it will be compatible with my motherboard.
My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H.

On the website it says Support for DDR3 2800(OC)/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules

I currently have a 4x4gb 1600mhz kit running fine. I'm looking at 32gb, these specifically:

But I'm not sure how it can support 2800mhz and not 1866.
So would I be able to put them in and have them work straight away, would I have to fiddle with some stuff or would it not work it all?

Thanks.

It will not run at 1866mhz but you can still install it.

Your motherboard is only compatible with DDR3-1066/1333/1600

Essentially your 1866mhz ram will be running at 1600mhz (downclocked)

So I don't need to change the speed I run it at in the BIOS or anything, I just put it in and turn on the PC?

You install the 1866 MHz ram first. Then go to ur bios to see what speed it is running at. Your bios should state 1600 Mhz since that's the fastest ur board can run. Also check if XMP is enabled, if it isn't then enable it. It will use the settings of the RAM so you don't have to do anything.
