Ok the rundown is Im am only 18 and still lives in my parents basement. ( I know pathetic) My parents are already running one DSL service from Century Link with a Wireless modem connected to one outlet. So basically they get a bundle with DirectTV with CentLink and get only 12 Mpbs. This is very slow when you are gaming specially when there are 2 phones, 2 wireless computers, 2 ipads a ps4 and an Xbox one connected to it. I was wondering if it is possible to get another DSL modem because I live in the basement and would like to have wired connection. My house has 3 phone outlets and I was wondering if i could just set up a new account with CenturyLink and have 2 connections in one house. I am assuming that it there is only one phone line in the house. The internet goes off at 10:30 because my siblings are on restrictions and since I am paying bills with them it would be worth it to get another router with my own restrictions and faster speeds. Need HELP!

It depends on your phone line and the type of dsl. For simple ADSL that only uses 1 pair you generally can have 2 connection in one house pretty easy. Most times the phone copy runs a cable with 2 pair to every house. They did this to have a spare phone line if the original had issues.

So you likely can just call and ask them to come hook up a second connection. How you mange to get that though your phone wires in your house though maybe a challenge. Many times the wall jacks do not have the second line connected. It likely is just a matter of rewiring some of the jack the wires in the wall likely are already there.
