1080 asus strix 560$
1080TI Msi gaming x 760$

I will be paying 200$ for around 35% better performance

Worth it or not?

Have you tried the New 3DMark Time Spy Extreme yet?

OMG.... The new CPU test is worse than running Prime 95.

I would say if your monitor isn't Gsync then yes you need the 1080ti for 1440p 144hz. Here is a benchmark of the 2 that shows you may even need gsync for the 1080ti.

Oh thank you guys, Elbert, my monitor is asus pg279q with g sync, guess I will be sticking with 1080 for now

Admirable
Just remember Gsync doesn't work below 30FPS. It actually does, but because of the latency, it will hold the buffer longer resulting in worse performance. than just having it off (if you are gaming below 30fps).
