Is $2000 too much ?

I have been really looking at a pc ive been wanting to build for a while.

at the start it was supposed to be 1700 and know its at 2000 because of very high prices in Australia.

here are the specs

15 4690k
asus strix gtx 970
kingstyon hyperx fury 16gb ram
asus maximus vII hero
nzxt h440
seasonicm12ii 620w
1 tb hdd
samsung 840 pro evo 120 gb
windows 7 pro
plus 100 for them too build it , i know i could build it but its a long story

( i already have the h80i so dont think i lefty a cooler out)

also i know that i could lower some specs but i feel like instead of doing something like getting a 770 and later going sli it would be cheaper to get it now and have it for longer.

Well I live in Australia and managed to build back in February what I have for $1192 plus shipping tax (close to $1300 from PCCaseGear...). You should be able to get a 250gb samsung ssd for a few dollars more, and windows 8 is better for gaming than windows 7. It's easy to build, it's fun. Everything else is good but I would go with a slightly cheaper motherboard, like ASUS Z97-A.

You can drop a lot of unecessary cost without effecting performance or quality.

8GB RAM is MORE than enoguh.
Asus Hero is horribly overpriced.
Samsung EVO/pro? Get the evo.

Windows 7 home premium will do just fine.

You'll need more than 8GB RAM sometime in the next couple of years. 8GB is enough for now but games like Star Citizen apparently will need more than 8GB, and yes in terms of actual usage there is barely any difference between the Samsung EVO and PRO.

1- 8gb ram is not enough for making music , gaming , adobe after effets , photoshop , video rendering and so on.
2- asus hero is overpriced but it is also amazing , its audio codec is outstanding and all up is really good
3- pro is much faster and has faster boot up times.

i feel like having these little things makes the computer 10 times better. i just dont know wheteher to comprimise and go cheap , or too spend a couple hundred bucks more and go all out.

The boot time difference between the Evo and the Pro is 1.5seconds. If you feel that is worth the cost, then yea, go for it. Personally, I wouldnt.

The RAM, I would say stick with 16GB, its amazing how often I have started to peak over 8Gb. And if you are doing editing, then hell yes stick with 16!

The Asus hero, yea, its overpriced, but yea, as you said it is amazing. (Biased as I have the Hero VI)

3. Other than the 1.5Second boot up time improvement as mentioned above, the rest of the performance difference is not perceptible and can only be seen in benchmarks, you will never know the difference.

1. 8GB is enough for almost any application(yes, gaming too) with the exception of a few things like RAW file editing (photoshop) and a few other things.

The asus Hero is a 100AUD more than the board i suggested, for that price difference you can buy a dedicated sound card thats 100 times better than the onboard HERO's sound.
