Is 3.5" hard drive being eliminated in the market?

Solution
3.5" HDDs are available in capacities up to 12TB. You aren't going to cram that in a 2.5" HDD or remotely affordable SSD any time soon.

There will be a market for 3.5" HDDs for the foreseeable future.

To answer the OP's question.
I don't think 3.5 inch drives will go away any time soon because they are usually cheaper.

In data centers 2.5 inch drives are becoming the new standard because they use less power and more drives can fit into a server.
