Do I need 400w new case? I never had any problems with power yet. Case is good Actec or Altec...something like this, full tower I'd say. (bigger than mid tower at least)
Crash, I respect your opinion. You are a very knowledgeable guy.
But you are talking out of the other side of your head on this issue.
Is there something particuarly macho about stuffing your system full of components, overlocking like hell, and doing it all with a 200watt generic PSU? Inquiring minds want to know.
He said 300W and that should be fine unless you have several hard drives and a system full of pci cards.
You don't have to agree with me, but be careful about correcting my reading comprehension level. Look to yourself, first.
<b>Ok, you've insulted me for absolutely no reason, so let me justify myself in plain language so that your thick head can understand the words that are coming out of my mouth. However, I didn't miss dhlucke's point, which bordered on being too dumb for a response.
300W is plenty for what he has considering that he has only 2 pci cards and an agp card. He only has one hard drive and 2 dvd/cd-rw drives. I have more components than that and I'm running a 230W powersupply. Granted I'm not using that processor though, but my other computer has a Duron 800 and more components than that and it's on a 300W powersupply. It's fine. There are no problems. You will only need a larger powersupply if you want to have multiple hard drives and a case full of pci cards. At no point in this entire thread did he mention adding more pci cards or hard drives. Memory doesn't pull that much juice to justify a larger powersupply. He said 300W and that should be fine unless you have several hard drives and a system full of pci cards.
