Is 4 Way Titan X SLI completely INSANE?

Is 4 Way Titan X SLI completely insane for gaming? I have heard that 4 way SLI tends to cause a lot of problems (like micro-stuttering and lag) in most games, but can also lead to (supposed) higher fps. Does 3 way SLI pose the same problems? On another note, if you were going to build a gaming pc for 4k-5k resolution gaming with anything under 10k to spend, what would your setup consist of?

You pretty much would have to be insane to run four-way anything, IMHO.

Even three-way doesn't scale particularly well.

fo triple 4k it is fne and also if you want to play at 5k it is great

we're too early for 4k. 2 more GPU generations then it's more realistic.

right now imho, it's more like bragging rights.
