Is 405W Enough for the i7-6700?

Pretty self-explanatory if you look at the thread title, but I'll elaborate.

I have a 405W PSU and I need to know if I can safely run my i7-6700 with 8GB of generic DDR4
(probably 1.2V) on my ASUS Z170-P.

I do not currently own a graphics card (because I spent so much on the i7.
The reason I am asking here is because some sources have said yes and others have said no, but they are dubious sources to say the least.

And besides, second opinions are great anyway. Any help would be appreciated!

More than enough. Without a GPU, even a 200W PSU would do just fine.
that being said, make sure the PSU is a good quality one. Wattage is not everything.

For i7 6700 alone without any dedicated GPU, yes, 405W is plenty.
405W is plenty as long as it is a good quality PSU.

Is it really 405watt or 450watt? A 405watt sounds like an OEM or generic psu,still probably fine for just the cpu,but i wouldn't want to risk it adding a gpu.

I ended up geting a GeForce GTX 970 so thought I may as well get a Corsair CX600 PSU. 600W can run what I need so I'm pleased.

Stay away from teh CX600. Get an XFX TS 550W instead.
