Hello,

I'm currently using GTX660 and i5 4430. And the question is, will this CPU bottleneck GTX1060 and will there be frame drops in games like The Witcher 3, GTA5 and Rise of The Tomb Raider? And what about GTX1070?

Solution
Depending on the rest of your system, you might actually get better performance than the guy in the video because -
1. He's using a very slow hard drive as his main storage.
2. He's got "only" 8gb of ram, which might not be enough for some modern games.
Like mentioned earlier, 1060 or 580 is probably the max you would want to pair that i5 with.

A 1070 would be way more powerful than that processor, so I definitely wouldn't go above the 1060 unless you were planning on upgrading the cpu soon too. Witcher is core heavy, so your processor is honestly right at the minimum spec for that game or even a little weaker due to the slower speed.

Okay, but if I were to pick GTX1060 then would I at least get the avarage 60 FPS in games above on Ultra settings? I don't want to change my current CPU because if 1060 is all right with my current i5 4430 then I'd be satisfied with performence in games I want to play.

I have a gtx 1060 and i5 4460 (which is pretty much equal to 4430). Not sure about Rise of the Tomb Raider and GTA5 but Witcher is not going to be a problem. I play on a mix of high and medium settings and get any where from 60-80fps.

Thank you for your answer. I have also seen several videos like this one https://youtu.be/tDn0Zl2lV_c and is it quite accurate to the performance I could get? It looks so great in my opinion!

Oh, that is interesting. I am currently using HDD Seagate 1TB 7200rpm and SSD Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB. About ram, it is Goodram 8GB 1600MHZ. Also PSU Chieftec GPS - 600A8 and W10 Pro x64, although I'm not sure if it actually makes any difference.
