Is 450w psu enough to power my pc?

So I currently have a 750w psu modular gold and was wondering if I could replace with a 450w and it still worked well. My specs are i7 4790k a gtx 1060 8gb ddr3 and like 10 fans and a z97s sli krait edition msi motherboard. The psu I would get is a 450w corsair model.I am also looking to overclock my cpu

Stay with the 750watts PSU. Its the beat if your gonna over clock that hardware. Also, just curious, why do you want to replace it with a 450watts PSU?

Why on earth are you downgrading your gold rated psu? stick with your modular its not only more tidy than most but it gives lots of headroom for not only overclocking your cpu but your gpu too!

The GTX 1060 is super efficient. I personally would have no qualms whatsoever about OCing a quad core Intel CPU on a good 450W PSU with a GTX 1060. If you had a power hungry card like a 1080ti, Fury X or a 390X then that would change the picture, but the 1060s just don't draw much power. Those 450W Corsair units are solid. You wouldn't have any issues as far as I can tell.

Having said that, I 100% echo @Rohit's question... why change? There's not many poor quality 750W gold modular units on the market that I'm aware of. Just wondering why you're wanting to swap it out?

Oh I'd change to 450w because I need money for a new motherboard and gpu so my brother would give me his 450w and 40 quid for my psu and he's upgrading stuff too. But will take the advice on board thanks

Riiiight. Good catch. I completely forgot about those entry level 240V only VS units. Yeah, they're not great.

Technically probably still within spec, but I totally agree with you @Madmatt30... you don't want to be OCing and pulling 300W+ for extended gaming periods on one of those VS units.
