Is 4gb ram 1333mhz ddr3 in gaming causing lower fps?

Hello, i've noticed something strange.
My cousin has very similiar PC to me:

Cousin's: gtx 750, AMD Athlon II X3 450 processor, 6gb RAM
My: gtx 950, AMD Athlon II X3 455 proccesor, 4gb 1333mhz ddr3 RAM

As you can see i have way better graphic card. we have similiar processor but he has more RAM. And he has way more fps in almost every game and i have fps drops. I don't have any idea why and i suppose the RAM is the problem here, so i am going to add 4gb ram into my computer. The question is, will it help? It's so annoying, beacuse i think my computer is better...

Check ram usage when in the games in question if you're hitting 4gb used then yes

You really need at least 8GB today.

Your video card is using memory addresses from the top down to store textures leaving 2 GB for the OS. With a 2GB GPU 6GB RAM is about the minimum even with a 32 bit OS.
