Is 4GB really my MOBO's RAM limitation?

I have a Gateway GT5657E and I was looking at upgrading RAM

Apparently I am limited to only having 4GB of RAM.

I've seen that there are 4-slots for RAM Sticks

Say I purchased 4sticks each 2GB or just exceeded 4GB

Can I use it all? I'm running Win7 x64 Ultimate Edition

From what I could see that is it 4gig. It is a very very old PC and they were very limited,by to days standard, on how much memory and such they could support. But back then 4gig was really alot of ram.

Yes. That is an outdated computer and generally older computers have much lower RAM limits.

Might be time for a new computer if you're looking to game at all. A decent custom build is probably cheaper than a prebuild.
