Okay so I just recently bought a new gpu the GTX 1050ti and me not being much of a knowledgeable person in terms of gaming PC's I didn't realise that my psi didn't come with a 6pcie cable and I was wondering if it would be safe to use a 4pin to 6pin molex for my x-tec classic power cp-550 watt psu I have read that they can catch fire which I why I'm afraid yet I do not have the money to buy a new psu since I'm 16

Solution
No, dont. never ever.

Don't use a 4 to 6 adapter, and don't use molex to 6 pin adapters.. I've personally done both over the years and every time ended up with melted wires and occasionally smoke inside my case.

I would never recommend it, ever. Invest in a PSU if the graphics card requires it.

Some GTX 1050ti's don't require a power connector and run directly off the power from the PCIE slot so you may luck out.
