I was just wondering if the EVGA 500W would be enough for an ASUS R9 280.I have already bought the motherboard and PSU since they went on sale and I saved about $30.

Here is a list of the parts i currently am planning on getting.

SSD - Sandisk Ultra Plus SSD 64GB
RAM - Kingston HyperX Fury 8Gb 1600MHZ
CPU - Intel Pentium G3258
MOBO - ASUS H81M-Plus
PSU - EVGA 500W 80+
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB
GPU - ASUS R9 280 TOP
CPU cooler - Thermaltake Water Extreme 2.0 (Won in competition)
Case - Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 (Won in competition)

Solution
Pentium is a 53W TDP CPU, even if you OC your CPU and GPU, the PSU has plenty wattage and amperage. 40A on 12V line is enough to OC the CPU/ GPU w/o any worries.

You're incorrect, they're all good quality, the '2' series (B2/G2/P2) are better quality but B1 is not at all poor quality, not even average. They're good quality units and can take this load with ease.

They come under tier 3 same as corsair cx and vs series.

They're NOT tier three. Absolutely not. That list is fairly accurate but isn't perfect. Why?

Here is a review of 500B from the most comprehensive PSU reviewer:

It got 8.7, now the extremely high quality Tier 1 B2 750W reviewed:

It got a 9 rating. So on what basis is 500B poor quality? It's leaps and bounds ahead of CX and VS. It should be in Tier 2, that list hasn't been updates since Nov'13.

Well i dont think the quality will change within a year and i was previously told by many people in toms hw including some moderators that g1 and b1 are not good.
