Hi, im upgrading my old pc. My specs will be: R5 3600 + r9 280 3gb + 2x sata SSD + 1x m.2 + 1x hdd + 2x8 ddr4 3333 + b450 tomahawk. My current psu is: Energy Knight (Seasonic) SS-500ET T3 500W. I will be upgrading the gpu in the future. Current gpu is quite power hungry (TDP 200w). Is my PSU good enough to handle these componetns? Will it handle some oc on the gpu and cpu? Or should i get a higher wattage PSU for future gpu upgrade and overclocking?

PSU calculators are not very accurate and either over estimate or under estimate a computer's power load.

The two main components in your build that should be calculated are the CPU and GPU. The R5 3600 has a TDP of 65watts and the maximum power draw of the GPU is 200w. AMD recommends a 500w PSU or higher for the r9 280 3gb. Hard drives, ssd's and amount of ram don't draw that much power, unless you have a crap ton of them, but you don't.

Bottom line, the 500w PSU you have is fine but don't overclock the GPU. If you are getting a more power hungry GPU, then yes. Having a 600 or 700w PSU would be beneficial if you choose to get a more power hungry GPU.

NO, replace it with a better unit, that's an old unit that needs to be replaced.

A good quality 550W unit like:

Corsair RMX
Seasonic Focus Plus
EVGA G2 or G3.
