Is 512MB graphic memory enough for full HD resolution?

Hello guys, I currently have 7 years old monitor that has resolution of 1024*768 and i am thinking of buying 21.5 inch monitor with 1080p resolution. But my card is only 512MB, would be enough to play games like crysis 2 without decreasing too much FPS?

Full system spec:

Athlon ii x4 645 OC 3.8ghz
4G ram
HD 6770 DDR5 512MB
M4A88T-M LE Asus mobo
550W psu

Depends on how high you have the quality settings on. With a 6770 you may need to lower settings a bit to get 40+ frames on a 21 inch monitor.

Lower bar is a single 6770 video card for Crysis 2. At higher resolutions with top quality you will end up with 20ish FPS which is not too good. For your CPU you could up the video card a few notches.

Should be in the 30s, but try it and see. It won't be horrible performance, easier to just try it and see what happens than to speculate. If your PC can run 2 video cards in CrossFire, you can also pick up a second 6770 of the same type and get a nice boost, or spend about $160 on a new faster single card, as a 550 watt PSU would be cutting it close for two cards, unless it's a good quality one.

I would say your performance will decrease by around 35%. That's primarily due to the higher resolution and to a lesser extent the 512MB will limit your performance as well. If you had 1GB of VRAM, then the decrease in performance would be around 30%.

Depends on the games you want to play. Some games will suffer more than others.

My guess is you won't be able to enable AA. You'll have to play with settings for sure.

Try it and see how it runs. It's not a bad card, the worse that will happen is you have to tweak some settings.
